Abstract:Photovoltaic(PV)is a typical inverter type distributed power supply with increasing grid-connected
scale, which has a profound impact on the ground fault characteristics of small resistance ground distribution
network. Because the signal is weak and difficult to identify when the high resistance ground fault occurs, the
traditional zero sequence overcurrent protection is easy to reject in the case of high resistance ground fault, and only reducing the setting value will cause the sound feeder protection to misoperate when the metal ground fault occurs. In order to solve the problem of traditional zero sequence overcurrent protection for high resistance ground fault,a method of high resistance ground fault protection by changing the small neutral resistance was proposed by using the difference in phase difference between the zero-sequence current of the faulty line and the zero-sequence current at the neutral point before and after the parallel small resistor is put into operation. This method has a strong ability to withstand transition resistance. Firstly, the zero sequence current characteristics of single-phase grounding fault in distribution network with inverter interfaced distributed generators(IIDG)small resistance were analyzed, and then the high resistance grounding fault was identified based on the fault characteristics of faulty line, healthy line and zero sequence current at neutral point. Finally,a small resistance ground distribution network model with IIDG was built in PSCAD for simulation, and the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified.
