Abstract:To address the transient power impact of grid-connected converters during the switching between
grid-following and grid-forming modes, and based on the generation mechanism of this transient power impact,a
virtual synchronous generator(VSG)pre-synchronization control strategy for smooth switching was proposed.
First, the phase difference jump problem during pre-synchronization was corrected, and the tracking direction was
adaptively adjusted according to the phase difference interval, optimizing the phase adjustment amount required for phase tracking. Second, the reference current value was smoothly switched based on the consistency of integrator output to avoid current impact caused by direct switching, and combined with voltage amplitude presynchronization, the transient power impact during the mode switching process was effectively suppressed. Finally,an experimental platform of the grid-connected converter was built and experiments were carried out. The
experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method in suppressing the transient power
impact during the switching between grid-following and grid-forming modes.
