Distributed Model Predictive Load Frequency Control for Power System with Renewable Energy

Release date:2022-10-20 Number of views:2322 Amount of downloads:1001 DOI:10.19457/j.1001-2095.dqcd22426

Abstract: With the increasing penetration of large-scale wind and PV power within the power system, they

will inevitably participate in the load frequency contro(l LFC). Since the power output of wind and PV is unstable, which would affect the power balance of grid, thus cause unstable frequency. A LFC method based on distributed model predictive control(DMPC)was proposed for the power system containing conventional units, wind turbines and photovoltaic units. The controller used the state information and prediction data in the system, and considered the information and system constraints of adjacent control areas, and obtained the control variables of each area to achieve effective coordination of local goals. The simulation results show that the dynamic response performance of the system using this method is better.
